Raised Cedar Planter

My wife and mother-in-law recently asked if I could make them raised planters. I hadn't made one yet but the basic concept is simple enough so I designed one in Sketchup and posted it to Facebook. The reaction has been somewhat overwhelming. I have had numerous people ask me to make on for them. I am fairly new to woodworking and it has been great practice for developing my skills. Each time I make one I find some way to improve the design. Let me know what you think but don't be too harsh!

  • Really like your design. I just have had the same experience. I threw a similar planter together for my wife, next thing I know I have people asking to build them one. Wish cedar wasn't so expensive haha

  • Looks great. Nice use of cheap fence boards for the sides to keep the cost down. What did you do for the base? Did those legs turn out to be strong enough?
