After getting ourselves a new queen sized mattress set we had an extra that my son wanted for his grown up bed. I decided after looking at store bought I decided that I should just try to make one instead. I borrowed my dad's finish nailer and my neighbor helped me cut the lumber with his compound miter saw. My son helped me place the horizontal slats on the bed as I put it together. For my first project with power tools I think it turned out great! My husband and I actually wanted to use it and let our son have our bed frame but our son wasn't crazy about that at all. He is so proud to be in a grown up bed that he helped me make. Now I have plans to make another one in maybe a little different style for our lake cabin guest bedroom.

  • Great job! I love the color and finish technique. Could you share what color this is and how you produced the style of the finish?
