Just wanted to share a relatively simple project that I recently completed! I had this old cabinet(bottom half) that I had no use for but HATED to throw away! While perusing through Instagram I came across a gardening bench & felt this was the perfect use but it needed a bit of jazzing up! So I decided to build a top shelf/rack for displaying my gardening tools, pots, plants & oh yeah, a few pumpkins too. I made a frame with simply 8 1x4's (cut to 30" each) and then screwed & glued each piece & added a shelf using an old army belt as brackets. I then sanded & stained! Biggest obstacle was making the bottom portion secure so the shelf was not too top heavy & to resolve that, I added a wider bottom so it was more stable & then screwed it in the cabinet. I also added an anchored it to the wall. This was a simple project that took me less than 1 1/2 to make that provides a huge impact to our back patio!
