Recently I have been trying to figure out how I could update my bathroom without breaking the bank. For anyone that follows me on Instagram @littlemendedtable knows that my budget is very limited & in fact, I still do every project with a good old hammer & nail in which I don't view as a negative but more of a positive & just grateful that I at least have a hammer & nails! I wanted to take my builder grade bathroom & add a little spa-like feel to what I view as my relaxation-station! So, once again, I begin researching what I could do on a major budget!! I really wanted to Tile, but was concerned about where I could stop the Tile so it would not look awkward as I knew I could not afford to Tile the entire area. I came across a pic in a magazine where a couple added board & batten to their bathroom & did so for under $50! It looked serene & added just enough character to set it aside from looking like a builder-grade bathroom. So, that's what I decided to do! While the project was not hard to do it was time consuming! The best thing about the project was that it only cost me $34 to do the area around the shower & tub! I also made the Roman shade to hide that hideous glass block window for less than $12. I purchased fabric and three tension rods and you have my version of a Roman shade for a heck of alot less than purchased from a store & super easy to make! I added some decorative touches including the reclaimed wood shelf and I now have achieved what I had set out to accomplish! I am very pleased at how it turned out & now have the crisp/white spa-feel that I was looking to create.
