This was a great addition to my travel work station.
I needed my Mitre saw for an extended period of time at a job site and decided to make something to make quick accurate cuts while not taking up too much space.
I made it the same length as my truck bed so i t would slide in easily without having to strap it down.
The fence helps guide my work into place while leaving enough room on the worktop to make 45 degree cuts.
The Ryobi miter saw slides in to make a level worktop.
Instead of legs, i framed in the underside to accommodate 3 sets of sawhorses.
The wood worktop has an added bonus of being able to screw into, especially is you need to make multiple cuts of the same length, you can screw a stop block in.
This was made easily out of scrap 2x4's and 1/2 plywood.
I put some boxes for storage while i work underneath the cutting surface too.

A powerstrip attaches to the underside for keeping the cord clutter to a minimum.

Great Little Station!

  • Simple, yet effective work station! Great work. Is there anything you would have done differently if you did a second build?
