I enjoy woodworking and I have two nephews that I wanted to make something for. One of them is highly allergic to a majority of wood species. Instead of trying to completely seal the wood and having to worry about the sealer every chipping off, I made a few name signs for them out of poly carbonate cutting board material. The solid base name sign was for my youngest nephew to keep him from losing track of the pieces as he is only 3 and the hanging name sign has removable letters so my oldest nephew can re-arrange the letters in his name as he learns words (5 years old). I want to continue making other letters for him to be able to learn words and tangible way to play with the words. My sister was very happy with the finished products.
