We bought a house with a slab in the back yard that needed something to give it some character. After looking at costs, a pergola seemed the best fit. I had never built one before, so after some research, it was time to get started. Four of my Ryobi tools did almost everything. The hammer drill put holes in the concrete for the footings for the 6x6 posts. The driver drill was used with a 16" long 1/2 drill bit to drill through the 2x6 and 6x6's so bolts could be attached. The impact drill put in support screws and allowed me to get them in with ease at unusual angles. Lastly, the air strike brad nailer connected all the 2x2's across the top. With the quick charge battery features I never went without power.
