I chose to make these nightstands with store bought wood for the framing and top and pallet wood for the rest. I ran into a lot of issues working with the pallet wood; mainly that the pallet wood was not the straightest or flattest. I This was one of the reasons I chose pallet wood. I wanted wood with character. I do not have an elaborate shop. No plaining or jointing for me. Most of the work was done outside on a fold out table. I was able to overcome a lot of these issues through using a lot of clamps. There were a lot of times that I wondered why I used pallet wood, but now seeing the finished product and the overwhelming positive reactions, I am glad that I did.
