The idea was to build a desk with a type of lower "shelf" for books. I took apart the pallet, cut to size, glued and stained the with Minwax Dark Walnut. The pipes for this particular desk were challenging as twisting the second pipe running across the width meant that it tightened one way but loosened the other end. I turned it to the exact mid point then secured it with a highly adhesive metal glue on the joint for extra security. The desk looks awesome if I do say so myself and I'm very happy with the way it turned out.
