Pallet Nightstand

We made this pallet nightstand for our guest bedroom. I was unhappy with the nightstand we had and wanted an inexpensive but beautiful alternative. We did a little drawing to come up with the design. We got a pallet from a local home construction site that they were just throwing away. We utilized the reciprocating saw method to deconstruct the pallet - just cut through all the nails and it comes apart super fast. After that it was a matter of cutting boards to length and getting everything put together. Working with imperfect wood made this take longer, but we don't have a jointer or planer and love the rustic vibe this project has.

Wow. This is an absolutely beautiful piece of furniture. The varying colors of the wood also adds so much to the rustic character of it. How awesome that you created this design entirely on your own too! Did you guys use any kind of stain, or did your pallet wood already have the colors you wanted?

Thank you so much for the kind words! It sure means a lot. Our original plan was to stain, but the varying colors of the natural wood after light sanding was too good to cover up.

Good call- it really does look too good to mess with! Thanks for sharing it with us.
