I dismantled a queen-size bed boxspring and converted it into a pallet board-esque coffee table. I finished with a mahogany stain that Ron Burgundy would approve.

Process involved: remove staples and nails with a pry bar, hammer, and pliers; measure and cut wood to desired lenght using a circular saw; use an 18 gauge brad nailer to put it all together; route the edges with a rounded bit; sand down the wood with 80 grit then 180 grit sandpaper; and apply a semi-gloss mahogany stain.

  • Genius idea. The finish looks great! We agree, Ron Burgundy would be proud!
