Wanted an outdoor furniture set but unwilling to spend the money for a really nice set, that would be too small anyways. Built a couch with foot stools, six pieces in all, out of an old Cedar Fence that we got free from craiglist (also built a fence around our yard and several other projects with this wood). Cut 4x4 which were the post of the fence in half and half again to make 2x2 for legs and framing, used the fence panels and cut off the tongue and grove and then cut in half to make the seat and back supports. Sanded all the pieces and then assembled. Painted everything and then making cushions to fit the custom sizes.

  • Awesome job! I like the way you used scrapwood to make something usable. Are you making the cushions yourself?

  • That looks like it will be very comfortable when the cushions are on it . Very cool design.
