Outdoor Cedar Sectional

We just added a new large deck onto our house and now we need a big seating area so that we can relax on it. This sectional is made from 22 red cedar 2x4x8’s. I followed Ana White’s plans, but I modified the depth of the couch 2 inches shorter to cut the cost of the cedar/scrap (almost in half!). I finished the cedar with teak oil for protection from the elements and will reapply every few years when it starts looking dried out. Cushions are from Big Lots. Total cost was about $550. $200 for the cedar and $300 for the cushions. I already had the Kreg screws and teal oil, etc.. so maybe another $50 for those. The longest part was sanding all the wood down before assembling.
