We bought this house three years ago and always thought a deck on the back would a nice touch. For the last two years I have gone back and forth on the size and design. I went with just a basic 12x20 on a main beam with a 2' over hang. I boxed 4x4's in to the framing and designed benches instead of a rail. I used 16 lbs. of 2.5 in. deck screws and drove them all with a 18v Ryobi drill and two batteries.
