So I was Living in the Beautiful Redwoods in Northern California and Working at Redwoods River Resort RV Park. After completing one project, being a 2 bedroom cabin.the owner decided to let me redo a room in their 8 room lodge, My budget was small, but my vision was big.while I'm coming up with my plan of attack, the owner had purchased a whole pallet of cedar fence boards for his yard.the whole pallet was not needed but at .69 cents a board why not.so I thought I'll make a white washed cedar board platform bed and a fake window headboard with shutters.give this room a feeling of being on the coast..the boards very rough started to sand and thought this will take a year and a half so I ran them thru a small planer and they came out perfect.so off I went made the bed, nightstands, desk, and faux beam on the ceiling with the boards.one thing I didn't realize was how wet the boards were and how much shrinkage id get.was able to fix...but next time i will lay out in a room and let dry out before using them

  • Brilliant! It looks great and I am happy to see that someone else has used the cedar fence for other projects.
