When I started looking for a large farmhouse table I was immediately overwhelmed with the price tag of what I wanted. Unable to justify spending $3000K on a dinning room set I started googling DIY plans. At this point I had never build anything larger then a picture frame before but I was optimistic and just curious. That is how I came to find Shanty-2-Chic. After browsing through all their tables I settled on their $65 table! I decided to attempt it. I mean worse case scenario I just wasted $65 attempting to build a table, right?! I thought the plans were super easy to follow and I had so much fun building it I had it 100% put together and ready to stain in 24hours! And now I have a table that I not only built myself (so it's much more sentimental) but also a table that looks like it was a 3k table from a fancy store. Eventually I added a nice rug, new light, and a few other small touches. And now I can't wait to built more!
