Modular Outdoor Sectional

My friends renovated an old bungalow in the Houston Heights, and after many months of permits and approvals, they finally were able to build an extension to the tiny bungalow complete with a screened in porch in the back. I built them a modular outdoor sectional for their porch. I used white oak, and assembled using dowels for most of the connections and pocket screws to attach the backs to seats. It is five separate pieces so it can be configured as an L shape, U shape, or a long couch. With two kids and lots of entertaining, this piece will surely get some use! (Note some photos are inside my kitchen and living room, as it's summer in Houston and it's unbearable to work outside!)

  • This is awesome! Very cool that it can be configured in many shapes. Nicely done!
