With 16 other bloggers, I took part in a One Board Challenge. The challenge was to create the best project we could out of a single 1" x 8" x 8' board. I started by cutting off two lengths of the board, and joining them together with glue to form one larger board, which I then cut into a circle. With the rest of the material, I cut out three legs and created a hexagonal column. After using a router to round over the edges of the legs, I attached them to the column using dowels and glue. Once dry, sanded and stained, I could attach the top to the column with a countersunk lag screw. It took me half a day to build the table, and about 3 more hours to finish it. It's a handy little table and cost me less than $15 to build.
