I needed a dead blow hammer to help with the joint assembly of my wife buffet I'm building so I used scrap walnut and maple from building her cutting board to make this bb filled dead blow. Using 3/4" stock planed flat I cut the side faces of the hammer head and glued 3/4" by 3/4 " pieces of maple for the top and bottom of the head. The end caps are solid walnut. And the handle is a 3/4" maple sandwiched between walnut pieces. Finished in danish oil. Not my best work but it is a quick and dirty tool to help with building my wife's buffet.

    • At times I can. Not always worthy only when I'm building something for the wife does it seem to wish me to pick it up.

    • Yes this was my first attempt at any tool. Now I have the bug to build as many hand tools as possible.
