My stepmom's home had a slab in front of the porch where she kept her trash and recycling bins. When you pulled up to her home the first thing you saw was trash. It was very uninviting. She does a lot for my family especially my children so I decided to build her a planter box so that it was more attractive to come home to. I built the frame with 2x4's. I constructed the planters using hardy boards. To ensure that the boxes would not rot from the inside I also lined it with truck bed liner. from their I cut privacy fence slats to go around the outside as well as for the trim at the top of each box. After everything was assembled, I stained it the same color as her porch.

  • stylishone thank you for the compliment. when I was finished with the planterbox, it was nearly 5 ft wide,3 ft tall and 30 inches deep. I submitted the images before I had a finished photo with plants in it.
