Mechanical Clock

I built this in my high school Woodshop class. For the last four years, I have been the only girl in my class, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. This project was particularly difficult to build because I did not have access to a scroll saw, so instead I used the band saw and a miniature hack saw. Due to having to hand cut everything in that way, much more time was spent on this project than intended. It was by far the hardest project I have ever attempted, however I would do it all over again in exchange for more time in the shop. It was my favorite part of high school, and I will always remember how much I looked forward to attending class every day.

I did remove the weight because there was not enough space where it was mounted for the pendulum to fully swing, so it is just for decoration.

Congratulations on an amazing finished product! You have real talent for woodworking. This is definitely one of the most complex small-scale projects we've seen on RYOBI Nation. How long did it ultimately take you to create this beautiful piece?

I would say close to 160 hours. It was a lot of trial and error when it came to cutting such small pieces on the band saw.
