Loft Bed For Little

My 5 year old daughter's room is woefully small. To help with the space issue, I built the loft bed from Ana White's website so that she can still utilize the floor space underneath. She absolutely loves it! Nothing makes you happier after finishing a project than to hear the giddy little screams from your kids.
I veered from Ana's plans in the sense that I used 1x6 boards and cut them in 2 to save money. This added time to the project, but it gave me extra material so I could clean up the edges after glue up. Made for much nicer ends when laminating three 1x3 common board. I also used some different approaches to screwing things together, so that no screws would be visible from the front of the bed.

  • I built from the exact same plans, except I did a straight ladder and adjust height for size of room.  I just completed a desk area for under the bed and a reading nook as well.  Look awesome, bed looks so much like what I built so I had to comment on it.
