Little Princess rocking chair

I wanted to make a rocking chair for my coworker's daughter's fourth birthday. I decided to break in my new Ryobi band saw on this project and it didn't let me down! I studied common chair designs and decided I wanted mine to be a bit heavier and more stable, with hidden storage in the back. I wanted it to be solid enough to last a lifetime and be passed down through generations, plus I wanted it to be totally original. I also wanted it to have a heavier center of gravity to make it less likely to tip over, since kids are prone to be rough and tumble. Last of all it had to be fit for a little Princess so I finished it in bright pink and three coats of polyurethane.
