I'm a total beginner when it comes to building, but I've been trying to make myself handy and budget friendly in regards to outfitting our home with furniture...so I've been trying my hand at building tables, beds, desks, and stuff like that. Turns out, building your own stuff leaves a lot of scrap wood lying around. SOOO, spring comes along, planting is calling, and my front porch needs some beautifying. A few left over 2x4s, 1x3s and 1/2" plywood planks...viola a beautiful rustic planter is born. I plan to add a self-watering system to it before it's completely done...but I'm loving how it turned out, not bad for scrap wood. It's 17"x20" and 27" tall...buying a planter like this at a retail store would put me out quite a bit of $, man I love DIY.
