Kitchen Re-fresh

At our 10 year home anniversary we decided we couldn't look at the blah-blah kitchen anymore! We had a tight budget to work with, but wanted a fresh, more modern look, buh-bye 1980. We painted the cupboards in and out. Rebuilt the cabinet over the range and replaced the microwave oven so it was at code height. Rebuilt the counter tops and covered with Wilsonart laminate. Added a tile backsplash. Of course a fresh coat of paint on the ceiling and walls. My favorite update is for sure my splurge item, the Moen sink and pullout faucet, it is a beautiful thing! If you can believe it we came in right on budget at $1000. It looks and feels so fresh. With young kids it was a challenge getting it done, but it only took about 2 months. And now a couple months since completion we are glad we put in all those late nights. Oh, and my mom traded ovens with me from her "second kitchen", thanks mom!
