Kitchen Cabinet Refinishing

Starting in early December 2017 I began removing my very dark, outdated kitchen cabinets, sanding them, re-staining them and putting them back up. I had to repair several large holes in the wall where the cabinets had been recessed, move lighting to accommodate the moved cabinets, and cleaning and replacing my cabinet handles. I installed a new non-ducted stove-top vent fan, removing the old vented one that only went into the attic. I replaced my refrigerator with a new, larger, stainless-steel unit; I replaced my toaster oven, microwave, and four-slice toaster with new stainless-steel units. I removed upper cabinets that were on the island (which dramatically opened up the space between the kitchen and living room) and I had new solid, Corian counter-tops with a large, single bowl stainless-steel sink installed and I installed a new Moen Motion-Sense faucet. I installed slide out drawers in my pantry cabinet. The estimate given to me to have the work done and have new cabinets installed was $24,000. I did the work and it only cost me approximately $8,000, a huge savings.
