I needed a Christmas gift project for several family members, so I designed this handy stool. I had on hand some stair treads that were 11 1/2" wide and approximately 4 feet long, with a bullnose on one edge. I trimmed off the bullnose and planed the 1 1/8" thickness to 1 inch. I used my Ryobi 18V drill, impact driver, jig saw and two different sanders to complete the project. I made seven stools and left them unfinished so the recipients could finish them to their taste and decor.
