Hall Butler

We had moved into a new house and were looking for furniture ideas to fill our entry way. About this same time we were cleaning out my grandparents barn and found a number of old wooden doors that were quite dusty but otherwise in fairly good shape. We decided to use on of them to create a hall butler. We came up with a design for the bench that would compliment the antique styles of the door but would also fit into the modern finishings of our house. It has now become a focal point as people enter our house and we have received a number of offers from people wanting to buy it off us. We so far have not been able to part with it!

  • This is an amazing transformation! It's not surprising at all that you've had some offers. It's great how you were able to leave so much of the original elements of the door intact and still give it a complete makeover. That storage chest you added is especially convenient- great storage solution.
