Ghastly Gravestones

First woodworking project, ever! I wanted to make some unique gravestones for our yard this Halloween, so I borrowed a friends truck and picked up several pallets, some wood lathe from a house renovation, and my first power tool- a Ryobi corner cat sander as it was the least overwhelming tool with a serious punch. I used it later to build three large outdoor seats tor our fire ring! the. Anywah, I am pretty stoked with the end result. The project was so much fun, now I have a new favorite hobby. The gravestones were made with deconstructed pallets, and wood lathe. The fence was made from wood lathe. I used various shades of stain and acrylic paint to decorate, and added a few skulls found from a hobby store. We have had lots of compliments this year!

  • Amazing work- especially for your first ever project! You did a fantastic job on the finish and painting. Very vintage/authentic... and creepy! Nice work.
