I used Asian inspiration to design and built this over gate archway/art display. By mixing pressure treated 2x12 and Fir 2x12 I achieved the finished colors with linseed oil and beeswax. There was a lot of challenges in installing this piece 10’ off the ground by myself.
Additionally, creating parallel curves using only a jigsaw and a few sanders (I didn’t have a table saw at the time of this project) took a lot of figuring and working. I wasn’t able to locate the black iron hardware I needed in the correct time frame so I painted standard carriage bolts with black appliance paint.
