I had to swallow my pride to make these signs for a customer recently (I am a Jeep guy). Customer wanted large hanging signs for her father for Christmas. He is a Bronco fan and collects them. Both of these were carved out using the Ryobi plunge router, and edging was done with the Ryobi palm router.

  • Nicely done, your lettering and graphics look great!  I've never had much luck routing signs free hand, I'm curious what type of bit you use with your plunge router?

    • Sorry it took so long to reply! Thank you for the kind words.  The way I do all my signs starts with paper and pencil.  In this case I stenciled out the font and designs I wanted with an exacting knife and put it to wood with a pencil.  For fonts with sharper edges I outline with a v groove bit (just a cheapo one from amazon) and take down the rest with various sized Diablo flats.

    • @Robzbrz1992 Thanks for sharing these details, I appreciate it.  I've used a plunge router with lettered stencils but always chickened out trying to do it freehand.  I'm going to have to give this a try on a future project.  Thanks again.
