I wanted to be able to "hang the stockings" this year so I decided to make a faux fireplace. I combined measurements and designs from multiple different fireplace plans on pinterest and from Anna White. I started the project alone, but didn't have all the required tools and ended up needing an extra set of hands and an extra drill. My dad and I tackled the project and finished it in one weekend. I've made many projects before, but never something I designed myself to meet my own size requirements and with a completely different infrastructure than I'd seen in the past. It was the first project I really didn't feel confident in my measurements and had to measure consistently as I went, but overall ended up with only a few length adjustments. The goal of this project was the most bang for your buck and I definitely achieved that.
