We were tired of having our charging cables on our countertop. We had a small little void in our dining room that we wanted an entry table. My wife's idea was to find a table and manipulate it to work. I just said let's build it. This is 100% recycled wood. The top and bottom were pallets and the frame was from the wood that secures windows when they are transported to build sites. We have homes being built around us and I just ask the crews if they are going to throw the stuff out or not and they usually are. Pocket holes and glue hold it all together. Top is stained and the bottom is just poly'd. Brad nails holding the top and bottom to the frame. The top is edge glued together (tough with pallet wood). I clamp the pallets to a straight edge (edge of 3/4 plywood so it would be factory straight) and run it through the table saw to get as clean and straight edge as I can.
