I used construction grade lumber. The top is 2x10s and the legs are 4x4 post, the aprons are made of 2x4. I planed all the wood down to 1"1/4inches then sanded each piece before assembly. The base was painted with a black chalk paint and then polyurethane was applied to protect the finish. The bench was made from the same wood. I made two benches but for some reason the other didn't get in this picture. The project took 3 days total with the application of the paint and poly for drying time.

  • This looks great! Are the legs black? Cool contrast with the lighter wood!
