Very simple project using 2 1x4x6s and 1 2x2x8. Cut 2x2 into 2 equal lengths. I chose 30 inches each. Using my Ryobi circular saw I cut grooves for the 1x4 shelves every 6 inches so I would have room to hang the corrugated steel letters purchased from my local hobby store. I then cut the 1x4s to the desired length for each shelf and cut grooves for the 2x2s so they would overlap. I did have to use a file to get a good fit with the shelves. It’s better to cut less and work up to the desired width to get the best fit. Then used my Ryobi trim router with a roundover bit to clean up the edges and countersunk all screw holes so screws would be flush. After that it was glue and screw. Be sure to pre-drill holes to avoid splitting. I then painted with chalk paint and then sanded from 80 to 220 grit to add heavy distressing. I used small hanging screw hooks to hang the letters and D-ring picture hangers to mount to wall. Next step was to give to Mom for Christmas. She was extremely happy.
