We had recently moved into our new house and I was looking for any entryway table, my problem was that we were tight on money and needed a long narrow table to fill the space. Everything I saw longer than 5 ft was at least $600, since I didn't have the money I decided I could make my own.
This table was my first project and I never really had a plan I just bought some lumber and made it up as I went....Needless to say I had to make a few trips to Homedepot as the table evolved. I really like the way it ended up. It's 72" long and 12" wide, and I spent less than $200 on supplies, granted if I would have planned better I could have probably saved a little more money and wasted a little less wood.

  • This is a beautiful turn out! It's a really unusual and lovely design. Your choice of stain and finish looks great- what kind of stain did you use?

    • Thank you! I used Kona stain and then polyacrylic.

  • Great Job! Simple, eloquent, and unique. It looks like it has a 'beachy' appearance with the colors being two toned. For your first project and without any plans, I am impressed!
