Drove by a construction site and noticed a large pile of scrap lumber. After asking the construction workers, I quickly loaded as much as I could into my small SUV. I had been wanting to build some sort of entertainment center that wouldn't take over my entire living room. Most of the store entertainment centers are gigantic and easily over-power a room. After working for 3 days of sorting, sorting some more, laying out and designing our wall we were ready to put it up. Started with thin plywood backing and screwed each piece of wood to the plywood. It was like a giant puzzle and took a lot of imagination on our part to put it all together.

  • This is an awesome build! What a great way to combine style and function- it really looks like a work of art. And you're right- a lot of entertainment centers can dominate a room- this was a perfect solution. Did you stain the wood?
