This project was a ton of fun and I got to try some new techniques like making the tapered legs from a pine log. A friend of my partner wanted a very specific style so I was left to design the table from scratch. The drawer slides were tricky since I could not use a jig due to the design but I fashioned a custom one to install the slides straight. We finished it with an off white furniture paint then sanded some distressing and stained those spots with briarsmoke stain.

  • This table looks great. I love how you finished it off with a rounded edge. I will have to look into this on my next piece.

    • Thanks! I used a bullnose bit to round off the 1x2 edging.

  • Love the distressed finish. Using plywood on the top was a great choice. Solid lumber that large would have had a bunch of movement. The hardwood edging makes it look like a solid board. Another great project by Tjbaum.
