One of our bedrooms had a daybed with a trundlebed located underneath so only 2 people could sleep there. We needed more beds, so decided to build two bunkbeds. Because of how the room is laid out, we decided to build them in an 'L' shape. Constructed of 2X4s and 2X6s, the bunks are heavy and stout. The finish we put on them was paint and then distressing just a bit. The grandsons really like the bunkroom.
