Dog agility is fun. And if you really get into it you want to own some of your own dog agility equipment for training, but it can be expensive. Pause tables are typically constructed from aluminum, steel or wood with some kind of non-slip surface. I originally bought a table online ($300+ plus shipping) that was made of wood with steel legs. Sadly, it only lasted one year before the steel legs were rusty and the wood was rotten. What a disappointment!! That inspired me to build my own table that would last and have minimum maintenance (no painting). I wanted a material that would last for years and not rot, splinter, or warp. The material that I choose was PVC. I built the table from PVC boards, PVC flanges, and PVC pipe; held together with PVC cement and galvanized screws. The side of the table was stained using PVC solvent (cleaner) with blue oil stain added. The stain is permanent and eliminates the need to ever paint. The table is covered with yellow granulized rubber purchased as a kit. The result is a beautiful table that is sturdy and should last for years.
