A hand sculpted wood spatula shaped from Poplar wood, then coated with butcher block oil. This project was created with the use of a few simple tools. You only need a few materials as well.

  • This is exquisitely done! The pictures are beautiful too. Did you use the existing spatula to trace out a blank?

  • Thank you so much! I did use the original for a basic form. However, my wife and I had a few features that we wanted to be different from the original. So, once the basic shapes were cut on the band saw. Both the "paddle shape" of the spatula, and the curve for the spatulas scoop, I used a belt sander and hand sanded until the spatula reached the desired shape.   • Thanks for sharing the video! It was really cool to watch it take shape- especially after the band saw, how you take it from a rough cut out to a perfectly smooth and symmetrical finished product. Awesome work and great video!
