DIY Ikea Bekvam Knock-off shelves

This is a small, simple project with a big impact. I've seen the Ikea Bekvam Spice Racks being used for bookshelves all over the internet. My closest Ikea is over 4 hours away and my favorite power tools are only 14 feet away :D Plus, I wanted to customize the look and size of the shelves. So, I made my own using my Ryobi 10" Compound Miter Saw and Kreg Jig.

I knew that these shelves would add a ton of functional storage to my little guy's room in a very small footprint. What I didn't realize was how much personality they would add to the space. Plus, these shelves can be customized for so many uses. You can see more details on my site: http://homeology.co/diy-book-ledges-knockoff-ikea-bekvam/

  • I'm a bit confused, Lauren. Your project details on homeology doesn't include a word about your 18 Volt One+ Impact Driver, just a photo of a Black & Decker hand tool. You mentioned shopping at Lowe's for your materials but yet you don't even mention the name of your Ryobi Miter Saw or Home Depot. So I guess I'm wondering: Were Ryobi products used at all in your Knock-Off Shelves?
