DIY Geometric Planked Wood Headboard

I was in need of a new headboard after getting a larger bed, and I wanted something unique. After finding an awesome headboard at Urban Outfitters (for $700!) I knew I would be knocking it off! Building the headboard was very straightforward and simple. Once the pieces of wood were cut to size, I stained them and then assembled everything. The legs of the headboard hold it up and also keep the planks in place. 4 wood screws into each plank (2 in each leg) make it nice and sturdy. The most time consuming part of the project was taping the geometric design. It took me a while to figure out all of the measurements, but I got faster as I went! There was a lot of double checking measurements to make sure everything came out correctly. I love the way it turned out, it fits so well in my space and people who see it are so surprised I made it. It's such a great statement piece because of its size and design, and you can't beat the price... I only spent $70!
