This bench is actually a spin off of the well known Leopold Bench which was named after the conservationist Aldo Leopold who built them for birdwatching and nature photography. I liked the simplicity of the Leopold Bench but wanted to modify the design for comfort.

  • 18V ONE+ HP Brushless 1/2" Drill/Driver

Materials

  • (4) 2x6x8' Pressure Treated Boards
  • 2-1/2" Exterior Screws
  • 2-1/2" Pocket Screws
  • Pocket Hole Tool

Steps

STEP 1

Cut the wood using the attached cut list. Using the circular saw cut the taper on the back of the long leg.

STEP 2

Use straight edge to align feet. Align back of the short leg with front long leg. Pre-drill and assemble two legs (mirrored) with 2-1/2" exterior wood screws.

Pre-drill and install seat and back with 2-1/2" or longer exterior screws.
