Materials

  • 1"x6"x6' Wood Board
  • Bird Seed
  • Metal Mesh
  • Pencil
  • Wood Glue
  • Wood Stain

Steps

STEP 1

Measure out (2) 5-1/2" x 5-1/2", (1) 5-1/2"x 7," (1) 5-1/2" x 6-1/4," and (2) 1-3/4" x 5-1/2" on the wood.

STEP 2

Cut all of the pieces of wood to size. Then stack the two 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" pieces, clamp together, and cut one side on a 45 degree angle.

STEP 3

Sand all of the wood pieces in preparation to stain the wood.

STEP 4

Apply stain to all of the pieces of wood and allow time to dry.

STEP 5

The 5-1/2" x 7" piece will attach to the 5-1/2" x 6-1/4" piece to create the pitched roof. The 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" pieces will be the sides, with the 1-3/4" x 5-1/2" going in between the two side pieces to create a front and back on the feeder.

STEP 6

Cut the mesh to the size of the base of the bird feeder.

STEP 7

Staple the mesh to the bottom of the bird feeder on each corner.

Fill the bottom of the bird feeder with as much bird seed as desired.
