This summer I began working full-time with my husband and needed my own personal space in the office. I had found an old desk several years ago that I love, but needed more storage space & something that would cover the network of wires coming out of the wall at eye level. After several DIY projects following instructions from online blogs, I gained the confidence to build something on my own. My biggest challenge was hiding the little imperfections of not so flat pieces of 1x12. To hide these gaps I used decorative quarter round trim. Not only did I camouflage the imperfections, I think the trim added to to overall look of the piece. I also had to build a custom panel to hide the access to the network equipment. This panel also does double duty as a magnetic chalkboard. I have had many positive comments on this project and others. I want others to know that they can do it too.
