Sometimes you need to stop being so serious and have some fun. I decided to build some custom wine stoppers to go with a new batch of wine boxes and this time I went a more colorful route. I used wooden knobs, 3/8 inch wooden dowels and #7 corks from a brewer's supply online. I drilled the inside the knobs using my Ryobi drill press, then cut a 3/8 wood dowel from Home Depot and glued the end then forced the dowel in with a mallet and let it sit overnight. I stained the knobs and applied polyurethane then glued the corks into place. Easy, fun and colorful.
