My daughter and her husband bought a foreclosed house. The kitchen cabinets were in bad shape so I set out to build them new cabinets. I used birch wood for the facing and melamine for the inside of the cabinets (for easier cleaning).

I added 2 pull out spice cabinets on each side of the microwave and 2 pull out cookie sheet cabinets below the stove. With the taller upper cabinets, they have a lot more storage space than they did before.

The finish is layers of Minwax Vermont Maple and a walnut glaze (which gave the cabinets a nice rich look).

It was a big project and I am very happy with the way they turned out.
