These cedar barn doors are a simple way to completely change the look of a room. This project started as a 50th birthday present to my mom. The hardest decision when installing barn doors is whether to install them as a side by side pair, single large door, or overlapping pair. I chose to go with the overlapping pair, as this shortens the length of the rails by half. With a single door or single rail install, the rail would extend the length of the room. There was originally a pair of mirror doors on tracks that were removed. The white trim was also removed and replaced with cedar casing to complement the door better and hold the mounting hardware at the top. The doors themselves took a while to design to insure they would sit level and plumb once hung.
