We were trying to decide what to do for trophies for our District Pinewood Derby, so I stepped up to the challenge. I knew I wanted them to look like trophies and not just a block of wood. Originally, I planned to use dowels for the columns. However, when I found handrail material at Home Depot, I knew it would do the trick. The main challenges were cutting the plate mounts at a 45-degree angle. However, it was quickly tackled with some help from my wife! Now, we await the final touch, the information plates for the front and the smile on the Scouts' faces when they receive the trophies!
